Sichuan Conservatory of Music Young Artists Concert

November 4, 2014 - Joseph Perez Mirandilla will be joining again this year's Young Artists Concert at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Grand Concert Hall. He will be doing a Chinese premiere of Hebert Vazquez's work Elegia. 

 
Asia - Europe New Music Festival

October 8 - 12, 2014 - A festival featuring new music from Asian and European composers which will be held in Hanoi at the Vietnam  National Academy of Music Concert Hall. Joseph Perez Mirandilla will be performing Agustin Castilla-Avila's works for microtonal guitar.

Guitar Duo Concert

May 5, 2014 - Ensemble Nomad founder Norio Sato, togeher with Joseph Perez Mirandilla, will hold a duo concert at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music to be hosted by the Electronic Music Department. They will be doing the Chinese premiere of several music for two guitars, including guitar and electronic works by Hebert Vasquez and Rai Takayuki.

 

Nomad Ensemble Concert 

April 28, 2014 - He will be joining Ensemble Nomad as a guest guitarist for the world premiere performance of Guo Long's ensemble work Fine Jade Wings at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Little Theater.

 

Young Teachers' Concert

December 19, 2013 - The Sichuan Conservatory of Music's Modern Instrument Department held it's first Young Teachers' Concert at the conservatory's grand concert hall featuring varied works for percussion ensemble, saxophone ensemble, and guitar ensemble. Joseph Perez Mirandilla performed Agustin Castilla-Avila's work for microtonal guitar Momentos Microtonales - which was one of the highlights of the evening.

Chinese premiere of Der Demutsahne

May 2012 - ​American composer,  Joseph Klein, in cooperation with the Electronic Music Department of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music will  be presenting  a concert of his works on the 26th of May where Joseph Perez Mirandilla will be doing the Chinese  premiere of his guitar work Der Demutsahne

This solo guitar work  is the tenth in a series of short works for solo instrument based upon characters from Der Ohrenzeuge: Fünfzig Charaktere (Earwitness: Fifty Characters), written in 1974 by the Bulgarian-born British-Austrian novelist Elias Canetti (1905-1994). Canetti’s distinctive studies incorporate poetic imagery, singular insights, and unabashed wordplay to create fifty ironic paradigms of human behavior. This collection of works begun in 1997, and it was inspired by the vividly surreal depictions of Canetti’s characters. This includes works for contrabass, violin, bass flute,  carina, contrabassoon, glass harmonica, alto saxophone, trumpet, percussion, guitar, and bass saxophone.



Agustin Castilla-Avila Microtonality on the Guitar Lecture Concert

April 2012 - Spanish composer, Agustin Castilla-Avila, held  a lecture concert at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music where Joseph did the world premiere of his work, which was also dedicated to him - Sakura for microtonal guitar.

August 2011 - Joseph Perez Mirandilla has already performed several times at the Berea Arts and Science High School, but in 2011, it was a whole new experience because he toured with these talented kids to Bohol, Dumaguete, and Cebu for a series of concerts playing music for solo guitar and ensemble.

Claude Bolling Concerto for Classical Guitar and Jazz Piano

June 2011 - Joseph Perez Mirandilla did a guest performance in the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Music Education Department  Piano Concert, where he performed Claude Bolling's Concerto for classical guitar and jazz piano.



The Music of Jon Christopher Nelson

November 2010 -  Joseph Perez Mirandilla did the Chinese premiere of American composer Jon Christopher Nelson's work, Waves of Refraction. A week-long series of lectures about electronic music which was organized by the Composition Department of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. The highlight was a lecture concert of the composer's compositions. The program consisted of mostly electronic music  and a couple of works with live performers.

UST Guitarra 2010 International Festival

August 2010 - Joseph Perez Mirandilla was featured as one of the artists in the First International Guitar Festival of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music. It featured artists from Asia, Europe, and the U.S.  His program featured the music of Benjamin Britten (Nocturnal), Hans Werner Henze (Drei Tentos), and Manuel Ponce (Variations and Fugue on La Folia). During the festival, he also held a series of masterclasses for the participants of the festival.
